WHISKEY AND CHOCOLATE WORKSHOP

On 25th of May 2017, Wine and Dine club held a chocolate and whisky pairing workshop. The purpose of this event in to introduce the pairing of chocolate and whisky that was easily forgotten. This workshop is a pairing workshop where we got to learn how to make chocolate and pair it with whisky. It was a 2 days event where members got to make 3 different types of chocolate and taste 4 types of whisky. The chocolate workshop was conducted by Chef Aron who is a pastry chef in Taylor's University and the whisky workshop was conducted by Mr. Thomas Ling who is a trainer in Entwin3, a consulting solution provider.

COOK UP TAYLORS 2017

On the 10th of June 2017, the Taylor’s Wine & Dine Club, held their first ever cooking competition ”Cook Up Taylor’s” also known as ”CUT”. The competition is fully sponsored by funds raised by the club, from sponsorships of ingredients by Softcore Cafe and prize contribution  by Garvy’s in the Park, a French Fine Dining restaurant. Participants came from various schools, including business and engineering faculty. The format was a simple 2-stage competition. The preliminary round consisted of 8 teams of 2, who cooked up a main dish using the prescribed ingredient – chicken breast filet. Thenceforth, the top three teams were selected to compete in the final round, which included a mystery black box ingredient that was a compulsory item for the dish, lotus root, couscous and seafood. 
It was a exhilarating and competitive event but in the end, all was well, stay tune to our CUT 2!

MALACCA ROAD TRIP

Malacca dubbed ‘the Historic State’ which is a state in Malaysia. We conducted a one day trip to explore the cultures and experience the food and beverage in Malacca. We went to Klebang Coconut Shake at Klebang to try out their famous coconut shake that blended coconut flesh, coconut water, with ice cubes and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, it is very refreshing and thirst-quenching! We took our lunch in Aunty Lee restaurant which is one of the famous baba-nyonya restaurant in Malacca. We have a mini competition on exploring and took pictures of the places and dutch heritage area like The Stadthuys, St. Paul’s Church and so on. We also explored the most popular Malacca’s tourist area on weekend night that is located along Jonker Street which known as Jonker Walk, the Chinatown street of Malacca. Jonker Walk is an open-air night market with an array of food, beverages, souvenirs and so on. It is a great experience and everyone have fun on the day by bringing a lot of happiness, memories and experiences back to their home.

INFROMAL OUTING (SRI NIRWANA MAJU, USJ 9, TAIPAN)

We are going to Sri Nirwana Maju at USJ 9, Taipan for our first Informal Outing. Sri Nirwana Maju is one of Malay- Indian restaurant that are use Indian custom that we eat in banana leaf. In restaurant, we are having dinner and learn about Malay-Indian food like the manners and how they serve the food in banana leaf. Besides that, from informal outing we hope that we can have a good relation with members.

POTLUCK

On 7th October 2017, Taylor's Wine and Dine Club has organized a pot luck event with a theme "Hometown Flavor" to gather everyone bring their own food or drinks by cooking or buying themselves. They have total 14 attendees join this potluck, they just came for eat, drink and have fun on that day. It was a memorable and enjoyable event that everyone could share with others about their foods and eat all the delicious foods together.

INFROMAL OUTING 2 (JIBRIL SS15)

COFFEE 101 Workshop

On 2nd of November 2017,  we conduct an event that called Coffee 101. In that event we learn about how to make coffee and know more about how to be a barista. At first, Barista Guild Asia teach the participants how to make espresso, long black, latte and cappuccino. Then, the participants also learn about latte art that they do not expect before. Almost all participants is from Wine and Dine Club member that are from various schools, that are total 10 participants.

FOODTOGRAPHY

Saturday, 25th November 2017

On 25th of November 2017, our club held a food photography competition called Foodtography which was conducted at Strangers at 47. We managed to get the participants both from Taylor’s University and other universities. The participants had to take  photos of the food (one main course and one dessert) and the photos were uploaded into Taylor’s Wine and Dine Instagram. In the end, there were three winners among all the participants, yet all the participants got certificate for appreciation of joining the competition. Then, our club advisor Miss Jasmine also invited a Taylor’s alumni, Sam which is a blogger, who shared some knowledgeable information regarding blogging, so all the participants got more valuable information after joining this competition.

This time we did a bit of a  special club and societies day where we managed to showcase our special Mango Tea which are brewed handmade from Black Tea and Mango Syrup. We attracted a lot of new members and our exciting journey together awaits!

WELCOMING PARTY

This event always comes after CNS day. This time our event was held at C6 Lounge. This event to welcome our new member to the club. There are some ice-breaking games and food. The food was prepared by our committee. This time is really different because some of the exchange students also join our committee. There are from Mexico and France. In the end, we met some people that we have not met before.

TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES (HIKING @KKB)

This time our club going for hiking at Kuala Kubu Bharu, This event for our committee only for teambuilding. we met at McDonald Mentari first then we go there by committee's car. it took 1 hour to go there. Until there, we took breakfast together then we proceed to hike the mountain. While we hike the mountain some of us already tired then decided not to hike anymore. The rest still want to hike the hill because they want to see the waterfall. it took us more than 2 hours. then we going back because some of us waiting for us. Before we finish our event. we went to the restaurant near there to take lunch. After taking lunch we proceed to go back to home. we can say in this teambuilding that " there's always a rainbow after the rain".

FUNDRAISING @ SLC 

10th - 15th April 2017
Fundraising 2016 was held in order to get more income for out big event which is cooking competition. This fundraising was very successful because the income is higher than our target. We sold many kind of tasty snack such as fun fries, deep fried mushroom, rice, nugget, and drinks.

FAREWELL GATHERING (SUNWAY)

8th July 2017 was the last week of our semester before we face our final exam :'). Our Club always held an event for the senior who will finish their study. This event was held at Ms. Jasmine Place. We did bbq party and we also put some touch up into the place. The boys were wearing the white t-shirt while the girls wearing the black t-shirt as their dress code. On this day, Our advisor Ms. Jasmine brought some appreciation gift to them for their dedication and hard work for this club. there are 8 people left us which is Rosie, Anton, Olive, Taten, Lakshana, Alvon, and Michelle. It was really fun and everyone enjoyed it. "This is the beginning, of anything you want".

CLUBS AND SOCIETIES DAY (SULI's)

24th August 2017 was the Club and Societies Day. This event was held at Grand Hall Taylor's University.  On this event, Suliandi Husni as PIC was helped by Sheirwein Kwoklius, Maria Cindy, Kvy Ong and Safwan. During the day, We explained about our club and also the event that we will be happening in this semester. At the end of the day, we hit our target to get 80 members who joined our club.

WELCOMING PARTY

On 8th September 2017,  was event for gathering our new members and we called it “Welcoming Party”. This event was held at Thyme & Tarragon Restaurant in Taylor’s University. The purpose of this event are to introduce the new members about Wine & Dine Club and to create bond between the committee and the new members as well as the curent member. We also prepared dinner and games to the new members.

CIVB WINE LUNCHEON  

Monday, 20th November 2017
It's wine workshop and speaker was Mr. Thomas Ling from Entwine Consultancy. We learned about history and information 2 type of wines white wine and red wine, king of wine (Bordeaux Wine) and queen of wine (Burgundy wine). Paring with 3 courses menu, (Appetizer : Caesar Salad, Main course : Ravioli of chicken or Slow braised lamb shank, Dessert : Fruit flambé) guest enjoyed the 4 different wines.
