In support of education, Monin Malaysia visited Taylor's University on various occasions to provide educational support and sponsorship to help students learn about beverage innovations with Monin syrups. ICE CREAM WORKSHOP

21st June 2018

Ice cream, especially soft serve, is a crowd favourite. We took the opportunity to invite in a soft-serve caterer who could teach us the shortcut budget method to making delicious soft serves that could be reproduced easily (with an ice cream machine) with various flavourings such as yam and even durian!! (mind you, all you have to deal with is for all the rest of your ice creams smelling like durian of course). It was a relaxing hands-on workshop with heaps of heaps of soft serves being sent out to everyone before it melts!!!

LATTE ART WORKSHOP

30th May 2018

Latte Art is one of our most well-received signature workshops. It is organised every semester to provide a learning avenue for many of our members and university community, many of whom eventually work part-time as Baristas in cafes or even aspires to own one later.

On 30th May 2018, we conducted our 7th Latte Art Workshop which consisted of 16 participants in 2 sessions. They were introduced to the origins of coffee beans and types of coffees, before the hands-on practice of pulling espresso shots, milk texturing, and the art of pouring. This session was led by the barista team from Pan & Tamper @Publika, and they taught the participants how to make heart, swan, tulip, and rosetta. The session ended with hyper and caffeine overdosed participants laughing at each other often failed attempts at the arts.

POP UP FUN(D)RAISING CARNIVAL

12th May 2018

#POP-UP FUN(D)RAISER CARNIVAL, is a fundraising event aimed at raising funds through fun activities and food, to be contributed to Pit Stop Community Cafe, a soup kitchen in the heart of KL that serves 200 mouths every night. In this carnival, we gather volunteers from different clubs and societies who are like-minded to contribute their local specialities in dishes and beverages, games and activities to help raise funds together for the same cause. It was a challenging event of such a scope and dealings, weather and location constraints, but where there's a will there's the way. The president persisted on and the event pulled through successfully to contribute RM500.00 in the end. It was a great and meaningful event for all who participated!

INFORMAL OUTING (RUYI AND LYN)

5th May 2018

Informal outings are one of our favourite events, where Wine and Dine Club members and committees get to go explore food and drinks in a more relaxing hangout mode instead of the organised workshops. Having omakase-style cocktails@Ruyi and Lyn, BSC Bangsar was one of the best! We were welcomed exclusively at the bar area facing the bar team so that we could watch and listen to the explanation of the drinks that we being made. With a very special price of RM50 each, we got to learn and taste over 7 types of cocktails (on sharing basis), served along with some super tasty bar snacks. This special arrangement was super worthwhile thanks to our alumni!

WINE LUNCHEON AND PAIRING

7th April 2018

On the 7th of April, we had our very first signature eat.drink.learn wine pairing event at Vintry@Jaya 33. Our participants were enthusiastic and they had a great time learning about the different wines they had paired with their meal, guided by 2 guest speakers-trainers who are sommeliers from Hilton and Marble 8, Ms Kathryn and Mr Danny respectively. This event saw 43 participants including committees, members, and non-members mingle and gather over good food and wine,  in a learning environment that encouraged responsible drinking and appreciation of the drinks.
"The best wines are the ones that we drink with friends."

WELCOMING PARTY

30th March 2018

At the start of every semester after the recruitment of new members during the Clubs & Societies day, it is customary for the committee to organise a welcoming party to welcome the new members and highlight to them the various upcoming workshops and events that are being planned for the semester. Some ice-breakers are carried out to get to know one another better and of course, food & drinks are always served, in ALL our events ;-) Looking forward to an exciting semester ahead!

TEAM BUILDING

1st May 2018

Every Semester, a new team is formed...

"This is my first time to organize team-building with my seniors. We had 2 sessions of team building which was held both indoors and outdoors. For me, it was an amazing outdoor bonding experience, as I’m such an introverted person, but was able to bond with other committee members through the sweat and rain. As a student club, we need to do more activities together so that we are able to express ourselves better and to be more confident to speak in front of others. I’m thankful that our trip to Chamang Waterfall was full of interesting moments that was hilarious when we think back on it now."
